Welcome to the Channel Hall of Fame where we profile two new top-performing Pastel partners.
We’ll reveal some of the secrets of their success and ask them to share an implementation tip or two so you can benefit from their experience in the industry. A hearty congratulations to this issue’s winners: Preferred Solutions and Unisource.
Staff: There are 39 in total – four directors, four Evolution, four Partner, four IT, three BIC report writing, 12 administrative staff, two at the training centre, four at the Pretoria branch and two at the Garden Route branch.
Location and area of service: The head office is in Somerset West. Our training centre is in Bellville and we have branches in Gauteng, the Northern Cape and on the Garden Route. We render a national service.
Business description: Preferred Solutions supports and sells the entire range of Pastel Accounting, Payroll and Evolution products and also generates BIC (Pastel Business Intelligence Centre) reports. All the trainers are Pastel certified and train in the classroom or on-site.
Years experience in Pastel sales and implementation: Preferred Solutions was founded in 1991 and quickly grew from a small business to a national company. We have been implementing Pastel software for 17 years.
Clients: Over 1000 customers including many blue-chip companies.
Success factors: Our motto is knowledge leads to service excellence. A strong accounting team means we have the expertise to deliver an excellent service to small and medium size companies. The BIC experts on the team generate reports to identify trends and assist customers in making better business decisions.
Listen, plan and train. The most successful implementations are those that are carefully planned and incorporate both current and future software needs of the customer.
Staff: Ten consultants and two administrative staff.
Location and area of service: Head office in Johannesburg and a presence in Gauteng, KZN, Mpumalanga, Mozambique and Angola. We are a true African company.
Business description: Our focus is business solutions and consultation to the SMME sector. Our services include customer development that integrates with all Pastel’s products as well as training. We are a turnkey solution company.
Years experience in Pastel sales and implementation: Eddie Wentzel and Paul Gama (the founder) have 35 years combined business experience. The company itself has 15 years experience in ERP/accounting solutions of which six have been Pastel-based.
Clients: Our clients are as diverse as the world out there and range from sports nutrition (USN) to game reserves (MTPA) to manufacturing (MECS Manufacturing) and the Lotto (Gidani).
Success factors: Our methodology, the tools, techniques and approach to developing and integrating a solution, all contribute to our success. Paired with an in-depth knowledge of Pastel and a zero tolerance approach to poor service, we have the perfect recipe for success.
Focus on understanding the client’s business and its unique business requirement. Never assume that you know or have been there before. The most critical phase of the project is the needs and analysis phase. As the client grows, we grow and remain strategic partners in the client’s business.
